Anyone looking forward to the live action DBZ movie coming out next summer?

I'm looking forward to it, just wish that fox would give us fans more information about it though..:cry:

No, No, No!! I mean did any of you hear any news like who some of the actors might be or maybe even if you thought you might be a good extra for the movie? lol

They've been talking up a storm about it on http://www.funimationcentral.com .

I just was thinking that you guys being such fans of DBZ, I wanted to know who you thought should play the characters? lol. What saga do you think it should be placed in? and do you think you like the idea of fox making a live action movie about DBZ like they did x-men and stuff.

Also someone said that the movie must be under progress already, supposedly they already have a poster for the movie.
http://DragonBallZ.com isn't giving me enough info so I'd just like to get all your guy's thoughts on the matter..;/

I just hope the live-action movie ins't grossly inaccurate to the series. I saw a commercial the other day for dbz action figures. It made me sick.

It had S.S. Gohan(that's right, super saiyan) Sounds like a ship. He was riding around on a hover bike! What does a super saiyan need with a hover bike?!

And he was fighting Android 17, who for some unknown reason was using a huge Red Ribbon army battle mech. Android 17 does not need a battle mech!

Apparently Irwin toys has no idea what dbz is about. So I hope fox has a better clue.

Yea, I saw that commercial and it made me wanna puke!! I was like, "Why the hell is Gohan riding a hover bike?"

well fox has at least 7 months to get actors, sponsores and all the money they will need for the graphics artist and costums. Like you said E_trunks.. I also hope they don't waste like 2,000,000 bucks or so on a movie that might turn out like crap and represent the wrong setting or characters to help goku or who ever savethe world..:fight:

lol yeah those comercials are hideous, saw one today talking about yakon threatening to take over the world and then majin vegeta and gotenks save the day. wtf!!!

btw i havent heard anything about this live action movie, just hope they dont screw it up.

Well, actually, they took a poll in a DBZ magazine that I was lookin at, and it said that the fans voted for some guy from Mortal Kombat to play Goku and The Rock to play Cell!! That's all I can remember!! Of course, these wont be the real actors!!

i just friking laughed until i popped a lung when i saw a new one
the crappy voiceover is going on saying 'Look here! its super saiyan 3 goku! NOW WITH REAL POWERUP SOUND'

thats where i laughed... they pressed a button and this crappy distorted sound like an untuned tv goes on and his hair glows abit with like a 1 watt globe

The majority of the dbz stuff for sale here is grossly inaccurate. It's almost silly how they could have screwed that up.

The only good ones I have seen are from www.if-labs.com. These guys specifically take their time and make them as accurate as possible.

just like all the other films, spiderman, daredevil, x-men etc, they will do 3 main things

Only use Usa actors (no jackie chan etc)
Change the story totally
Change how the people are from the anime (e.g vegeta may not be an *******)

"They" only need seven and the univers is thiers.

so is it the Saiyajin saga or soemthing.
since there are more enemy's that know's about it.
or Freiza saga..
could be who knows.

I might as well put my two cents in.

FIrst off, that is a photoshopped poster. The movie will be called Dragonball and not Dragonball Z. because of that, as well as that cheesy line written without knowledge of the script or the specific storyline Fox plans to do (either start off at the beginning or the saiyan saga), makes it a fake.


OK, so what I said about the poster tagline doesn't make sense. You get my point though.


I bet the majority of you artists here can pull a poster like that out of your arse anyways.
