Congratulations! You paid 2-3x more for an alienware than what you could have paid for a usermade one!
But yea, it's good. But you definitely don't need 4GB of ram ~_~.

well it sucks if you look at price to performance ratio
but I bet it has a nice looking case >_>

Holy crap that's a lot of money, but you'll never need to upgrade RAM again :D
How's the Audigy? I was thinking of ordering one.

Luckily you can softmod any card from Live! 5.1 and up to Audigy 2 ZS :).
Oh, and can you do a quick 3dmark01 run through and then upload it so I can see what you get?

Thanks, I was gonna make another thread about this when the forums where down but they were down (you heard me). I'm a bit torn between the Audigy 2 ZS and the Audigy 4...you know what? I will make a seperate thread.
Anyhoo SDF, have fun on your godly rig, let me know how HL2 runs :D

Uh, and I noticed that you have DDR2 ram running at 400 MHz...? I hope that it's really running at 800 MHz (400x2).

Sorry what's GT whatever? 20-50 FPS doesn't seem too good for a $7900 machine, I get 100fps on HL2 with a single 9800XT 256mb o_o

Never get Alienware, your paying more money for the brand name than the computer, my computer can hold up to that and was only $1,800. Ill put specs up later.
i got it from tigerdirect.com

Run the same benchmark as him, you'll get about 1/3 of his score.
I also get 100 fps on HL2 whenever I use the "good fps but not good look'n" config, and I'm talking about big open areas, not small enclosed hallways. I could use 8x AA and 16x AF with 1600 by 1200 and get constant 100 in hallways D:.
TBH you wasted your money, I would've done it myself if it was me, only probably would've spent $2,000-2,500. But its your money not mine, so have fun with it. Just know it about 3 or 4 years it will be obselete. Was 4 gigs of memory really needed? Unless you are doing video editing and photo editing thats a little overboard.

Eight thousand? Jesus Christ man, you had a lot of spare money to burn didnt you. Good for you, I guess. If you can do it, why not right? Have fun :)
